How Fedar UV Flatbed Printing Opens New Revenue Streams for Your Shop
Most print shops and decorators are built around one core technology. Screen printing. Embroidery. DTF. Sublimation. Each one is excellent at what it does -- and each one has a ceiling. The shops that grow past that ceiling are the ones that add UV flatbed printing.
UV flatbed printing is not a replacement for what you are already doing. It is the technology that lets you say yes to every job you are currently turning away. Custom tumblers, branded signage, personalized gifts, acrylic awards, silicone UV patches, direct printing on soft goods and apparel -- virtually any surface, any substrate, flat or cylindrical. Every time you refer that work somewhere else, you are sending revenue out the door.
Fedar UV flatbed printing gives you that capability. Industrial Epson printhead technology, LED-UV curing, and Impact-USA Concierge Support behind every machine. A whole new category of products you can offer, starting the day the machine is installed. And if you are already running a Fedar DTF printer, the two systems together cover virtually every decorated products category in the market.

01 | What UV Flatbed Actually Means for Your Business
UV flatbed printing uses UV-cured inks to print directly onto virtually any hard, flat surface -- no transfer, no heat press, no special coating required on most substrates. The ink bonds to the surface and is cured instantly by an LED-UV lamp as the head passes, producing scratch-resistant, fade-resistant, waterproof output with vibrant color and razor-sharp detail.
Revenue Streams You Can Add Immediately
Silicone Uv Patches -- One of the hottest applications in decorated apparel
right now. 3D raised patches for hats, bags, and jackets, produced in-house, on demand, at a fraction of outsourcing cost.
Custom Drinkware -- tumblers, bottles, and cups with full-color direct print using the UV A3 rotary attachment. Products your customers are already buying from someone else.
Branded Promotional Products -- phone cases, acrylic awards, wood plaques, keychains, coasters, and more. High-margin, short-run, exactly what corporate and event clients want.
Signage and Displays -- glass, metal, PVC, and acrylic panels printed directly. No vinyl, no lamination, no outsourcing.
Personalized Gifts -- virtually any hard substrate that fits the print bed. A product category that drives repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals.
The common thread across all of these applications is margin. UV printed products command premium pricing because the output looks and feels genuinely premium. Customers perceive the value immediately.
02 | Two Machines. Every Job.
Fedar offers two UV flatbed platforms, each designed for a specific stage of business growth. Whether you are a high-volume shop looking for production capacity or a growing shop adding UV for the first time, there is a machine sized for where you are right now.

Which One is Right for Your Shop?
UV-6090: Built for shops that are ready to make UV a core revenue line. Larger print area handles signage, full-size patches, and production runs. Optional varnish head unlocks glossy, matte, and textured finishes that command premium pricing. This is a production machine.
UV A3 3-in-1: Built for shops that want to test the UV category without a large footprint or investment. Sits on a workbench. Three printing modes in one machine. Ideal for personalized merchandise, promo products, and cylindrical items. This is an expansion machine.

03 | The Technology Behind the Output
Both Fedar UV flatbed models are built on the same industrial printhead technology that powers the entire Fedar lineup. This is not desktop equipment dressed up with commercial marketing. These are production-grade machines with the components to back it up.
What Makes the Output Look the Way It Does
Epson I3200 / I3200 U1HD Printheads: Industrial Epson heads with Variable Sized Droplet Technology for photo-level detail, smooth gradients, and crisp text down to 2pt font size. LED-UV Curing System: Instant cure as the head passes. No drying time, no smearing. LED lamps run cooler and last significantly longer than mercury UV lamps.
Industrial-Grade Motion Components: Both UV flatbed models are built with Japanese THK linear guide rails, Japanese NSK bearings, German IGUS ink chain, and LEADSHINE servo motors -- the same combination used across the entire Fedar lineup. These are not generic components. They are the same names you will find in high-end industrial CNC and automation equipment, chosen specifically for precision, low noise, and long service life under continuous production conditions.
CMYK + White + Varnish or CMYK + White + White: Both models support two ink configurations. The varnish configuration adds glossy, matte, or textured finishes that make products look and feel premium. The dual white configuration runs two white ink channels instead -- the most popular setup for silicone UV patch production, where building ink height in multiple passes creates the raised 3D effect. More white layers mean a taller, more pronounced patch. You choose the configuration based on your primary application.
3D Varnish and Embossed Effects: Build up varnish in layers for real visual and tactile depth. Raised logos, textured backgrounds, and brush-stroke effects no vinyl cutter can replicate.
Variable Ink Drop Technology (UV A3): Three drop sizes for maximum flexibility -- fine drops for sharp detail, larger drops for solid coverage and faster throughput.
Hard, Soft, and Silicone UV Inks: Both models support all three UV ink types. Hard inks for rigid substrates like glass, acrylic, and metal. Soft inks are used for UV DTF printing -- printing onto PET film for transfer to flexible or complex surfaces. Silicone inks for the 3D raised silicone patches that are one of the hottest applications in decorated headwear right now.
Optional Visual Positioning System: An optional add-on that uses a camera to automatically scan the print bed, detect where items are placed, and align the print file to match -- no manual jigs or fixtures required. Essential for overprinting, multi-pass jobs, printing on pre-made items, and any application where precise placement matters.
Flying Ink Extraction System: Captures airborne ink mist during printing, keeping the print environment cleaner and protecting both the machine and operator.
Anti-Static System: Eliminates static buildup on substrates before and during printing, which can cause ink adhesion issues and attract dust. Particularly important for acrylic, plastic, and other static-prone materials.
04 | Impact-USA Concierge Support: What You're Really Buying
Adding a new printing technology to your shop is only a good investment if you can get it running quickly and keep it running reliably. That is exactly what Impact-USA Concierge Support is designed to do. The same support infrastructure that backs our DTF lineup backs every UV flatbed we sell.
Service Equipment | What it Means for Your Business |
Onsite Installation | Your printer arrives fully assembled and is set up in your facility by a trained Impact-USA technician. We don't drop-ship and disappear. |
Hands-On Training | Operator and production training is conducted on-site at your location, so your team is confident and productive from day one. |
Full ICC Color Profiling | UV flatbed color profiling is more complex than DTF -- every substrate type requires its own ICC profile because glass, acrylic, metal, wood, and other materials each interact with UV ink differently. Impact-USA has already built profiles for common substrates across all Fedar UV flatbed models in CADlink Digital Factory. If you are regularly printing on a specific material, we can build a custom profile for it, ensuring accurate, repeatable color and Pantone matching on every job -- something most UV flatbed dealers simply cannot offer. |
US-Based Technical Support | Our US-based technical team provides direct phone and remote support. No overseas time zones, no language barriers. As the master distributor for Fedar in the US and Canada, we have a close, direct relationship with the factory that gives our team access to support and resources most dealers simply don't have. |
US Parts Inventory | Critical spare parts are stocked domestically. No waiting weeks for international shipments when you need to stay in production. |
Ongoing Relationship | Your account manager remains your single point of contact for questions, consumables, and future equipment needs. |
Impact-USA is the master distributor for Fedar in the United States and Canada, headquartered in Ontario, California. Our direct relationship with the factory means faster answers, better support, and access to resources that go well beyond what a typical dealer can offer. We are not a dropshipper. We are a partner.
05 | The Bottom Line: What UV Adds to Your Business
The right question is not what a UV flatbed costs. It is what it earns. When evaluating the addition of UV to your shop, consider:
Revenue per customer: How many jobs are you currently referring out that you could be keeping?
Average order value: UV printed products command higher margins than garment decoration. How does that change your numbers?
New customer categories: Corporate, promotional, events, and retail gift markets all become accessible with UV capability.
Utilization: Your team and your facility are already in place. UV adds revenue without adding proportional overhead.
Competitive differentiation: How many shops in your market offer in-house UV flatbed alongside DTF?
Fedar UV flatbed printing, backed by Impact-USA Concierge Support, gives you a production-ready platform to grow beyond the garment -- with a team that is invested in your success, a support infrastructure built for production environments, and a direct factory relationship that most dealers simply cannot match.
